Qing Qianlong Dynasty Pitcher Jug Vase. c.1736 to 1796.

The one handled pitcher vase, with the scene of the Willow/River setting depicting the first Dutch ship anchored in the Pearl River estuary with floral anchors surrounding the inner border. A mirrored scene of the famous willow river scene depicted on the rear side of the vase.

When Qianlong was on the throne China was flourishing, but as he left the throne it was beginning to decline. The long reign of the Qianlong emperor (who retired in 1796, three years before his death) may be considered the height of the Qing period.
