Three beautiful cake plates, highly collectable and sought after featuring a spring flower bouquet in a needlepoint pattern on gold laced chintz design.
The purchase is for three cake plates. The serving salad bowl and dessert dishes are separate orders.
This is a rare pattern called ‘Old English Sampler’ or ’ Old English Needlepoint’ pattern.
The pattern features cross-stitch style pansies and gilt chintz pattern. Transfer printed by hand during the glazing process.

Hollinshead & Kirkham, otherwise known as H & K Tunstall (1870 - 1956) were originally from Burslem in Staffordshire, UK (1870 - 1876) and moved their pottery works to nearby Tunstall in 1876. In 1890 they took over the Unicorn Works pottery.
The pottery was incorporated into the Johnson Bros Group in 1956
